Features

The design

The EU2200i has a similar appearance to the old EU2000i model. It has the same red and black exterior with a convenient carry handle for easy transportation and portability.

This model, however, features a small footprint of fewer than 47 lbs, and the maintenance cover on the side is attached with a single screw.

The canny layout of the interior components offers straightforward access to all parts and at the back of the generator, you’ll find the exhaust and encased muffler.

Power & consumption

The unit is equipped with a super silent 121cc GXR120 four stroke engine, which was initially engineered for heavy duty use and gives it added strength and power.

The unit uses standard, unleaded gasoline and generates clean sine wave power for the safe running of sensitive electronic devices via the AC receptacles.

The EU2200i also features a small fuel tank with a runtime of 3.2 hours at a full load and up to 8.1 hours at a quarter load.

Noise level

One of the predominant features of this unit is the low noise output of 48 dBA at quarter load and only 57 dBA at full load.

Control panel

Included on the control panel are two 120V 15A standard AC receptacles for powering essentials, and a 12V 8.3A DC receptacle for running 12V automotive batteries.

You will need an extra cord for the 12V outlet, which is sold by Honda on its own.

The circuit breaker on the panel protects the AC receptacles from overloading when more than 20A of power is drawn.

You will also see three LED indicator lights that alert you when the unit needs some oil, when excessive power is drawn, and when the receptacles have the appropriate voltage output.

Economy mode

An incredibly useful feature is the eco-throttle feature, which means you can run the generator in eco-mode. This extends runtime, lowers noise levels, and saves fuel.

Eco-mode slows the engine down to match the load. This is ideal when running the unit for prolonged periods.

Fuel off switch

The fuel shut-down feature located next to the on/off switch allows you to shut the fuel flow off while the unit is running.

It stops the engine and allows it to deplete the remaining fuel and ensure the carburetor is empty before shutting down automatically.

This is an incredibly useful feature to use before storing the generator. It means that the generator is completely emptied of fuel to avoid any problems that may arise due to fuel going stale.

Parallel operation

This generator features two connectors supporting parallel applications.

The Honda EU2200i can be connected to another generator to deliver double the wattage when you need to run bigger appliances or various smaller items.

Service & Warranty

The Honda brand is known for standing behind its products. They offer a 3 year commercial and residential warranty on all their generators.

The warranty offered is industry-leading since most brands don’t offer a residential warranty of 3 years, nor a commercial warranty of 3 years.

What Customers Say

This unit received fantastic reviews with customers loving that it starts right away and comes with a mobile app that tracks maintenance intervals.

They also commented on its lightweight design, super quiet noise output, and overall quality.
